It is important for us to know that<br>the believers have been redeemed from three things by virtue of the death of our Lord Jesus<br>Christ:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sickness and diseases. Isaiah 53:5, Mathew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Poverty. 2 Cor 8:9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spiritual (second) death.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ufffd\ufffd What is the Second Death?<br>The second death is often understood as eternal separation from God, associated with the lake of<br>fire (Revelation 20:14). Through Jesus Christ&#8217;s death and resurrection, believers have been<br>redeemed from the second death. Here are key scriptures that relate to this truth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Revelation 20:14-15 (KJV)<br>\u201cAnd death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.<br>And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 The second death = eternal separation from God.<br>\uf0b7 It is the final judgment for those not saved through Christ.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 Scriptures That Prove Believers Are Redeemed from It<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Revelation 2:11 \u2014 Believers Will Not Be Hurt by the Second Death<br>\u201cHe that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall<br>not be hurt of the second death.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 \u201cOvercomers\u201d = those who believe in Jesus (see 1 John 5:4-5).<br>\uf0b7 We are immune to the second death through faith.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revelation 20:6 \u2014 The Second Death Has No Power Over the Redeemed<br>\u201cBlessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no<br>power\u2026\u201d<br>\uf0b7 Those raised with Christ (first resurrection) are exempt from the second death.<br>\uf0b7 This \u201cfirst resurrection\u201d includes spiritual rebirth now, and eternal resurrection later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>John 5:24 \u2014 Eternal Life Means No Judgment or Death<br>\u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath<br>everlasting life,<br>and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 Believers already passed from death to life.<br>\uf0b7 No fear of final judgment (second death) remains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Romans 8:1\u20132 \u2014 No Condemnation in Christ<br>\u201cThere is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus\u2026 For the law of the Spirit<br>of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 We are free from the law of sin and death.<br>\uf0b7 \u201cNo condemnation\u201d means we will not experience the second death.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 John 5:11-12 \u2014 Eternal Life Through the Son<br>\u201cAnd this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.<br>He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 Having Jesus = having eternal life = no part in the second death.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hebrews 9:27-28 \u2014 One Judgment, Not Two Deaths<br>\u201cAnd as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:<br>So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he<br>appear\u2026 without sin unto salvation.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 Because Christ bore our sin, we face salvation, not condemnation.<br>\uf0b7 The second death is not our destiny.<br>\uf0b7 The second death is real, but not for believers.<br>\uf0b7 Jesus redeemed us from its power through His death and resurrection.<br>\uf0b7 If your name is written in the Lamb\u2019s Book of Life (Rev. 21:27), you are eternally secure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As powerful as the death of Christ is, however, the resurrection is much more powerful. Below is a<br>list of the benefits of His resurrection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Resurrection is the Foundation of the Christian Faith<br>Explanation:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resurrection is not a secondary doctrine\u2014it is the very heart of Christianity. Without it, Jesus<br>would have been just another martyr. The resurrection proves He is the Son of God and validates<br>everything He said and did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture:<br>\uf0b7 1 Corinthians 15:17 \u2013 \u201cAnd if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 Romans 1:4 \u2013 \u201cAnd declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of<br>holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.\u201d<br>The Apostle Paul emphasizes that if Jesus had not risen, our preaching and faith are in vain. But<br>because He did rise, we have a living hope and the assurance that sin and death are defeated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Resurrection Fulfils Prophecy and Validates Christ\u2019s Identity<br>Explanation:<br>Jesus repeatedly told His disciples He would rise on the third day (Matt. 16:21, John 2:19). His<br>resurrection fulfilled Old Testament prophecies and His own words, proving He truly is the promised<br>Messiah.<br>Scripture:<br>\uf0b7 Psalm 16:10 \u2013 \u201cFor thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One<br>to see corruption.\u201d<br>\uf0b7 Luke 24:44-46 \u2013 \u201c\u2026that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses,<br>and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me\u2026 and that repentance and remission<br>of sins should be preached in his name among all nations.\u201d<br>The resurrection was not an afterthought. It was God&#8217;s plan all along, foretold through prophets and<br>fulfilled in Christ.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Believers Share in His Resurrection \u2013 A New Identity<br>Explanation:<br>When Jesus rose from the dead, He didn\u2019t just win a personal victory\u2014He brought all believers into<br>new life with Him. Resurrection isn\u2019t only about going to heaven one day; it&#8217;s about walking in<br>newness of life now.<br>Scripture:<br>\uf0b7 Romans 6:4-5 \u2013 \u201c\u2026just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,<br>we too may live a new life\u2026 we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The death of Jesus brought about our redemption as believers.
